Holy Name Hospital Campaign

Be on the frontlines of Tzedakah, so they can be on the frontlines in fighting this virus. Please join the YIOT Sisterhood in contributing to Holy Name Hospital for PPE.
 
 
 
Today, the YIOT Sisterhood is launching a 24 hour campaign to raise funds for the PPE needed to care for the critically ill patients at Holy Name. We are asking for $10-$18 per family, or whatever you can afford at this time. We understand that times are tough for many, but every penny counts. No individual names will be listed on a scroll, the donation will come from our community as a whole.  The Sisterhood will be matching up to $500 from our funds to help support this initiative.
 
 
Fred Rogers once famously said:  "When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.' To this day, especially in times of 'disaster,' I remember my mother's words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers--so many caring people in this world."
 
When we think of the YIOT community, Mr. Rogers inspiring words comes to mind.  Our neighborhood is full of a beautiful and friendly energy and it is what appeals to so many people who have moved here over the years.  During this difficult time, the Sisterhood has our neighbors, the staff and patients at Holy Name Hospital, at the forefront of our minds.  They are just a mere few blocks away, at the epicenter of this crisis.  Our small neighborhood hospital.
 
So, what small act of KINDNESS can we as a collective community do to show our neighborly support? The window for receiving donations will close at the start of Shabbat this week so that we can get this donation to the hospital as quickly as possible.
We pray for the health and safety of the staff at Holy Name and the community at large.
